Glenn Beck interveiws Senator Joe Lieberman

Alright, I was wrong, we are not all dead. August 22nd was yesterday and today we are all still breathing.

But while I sat in my bunker, hunkered down, shivering in the cold, wrapped in my blanket, unshaven, wearing my tin foil hat, there came a moment of clarity.

I filled in for Jake Jacobsen on his radio show Monday, I spent the first hour talking about illegal aliens, hour 2 was all about the end of the world, hour 3 rolled around and Jake came on and we did the last hour of the show together. Jake asked me a lot of questions. And he flipped a switch in me. The switched turned on, but the light bulb was burned out. Well I’ve changed the light bulb now and it is burning brightly.

I was listening to Glenn Beck and he had Senator Joe Lieberman on his program. (audio of the interveiw) He asked Senator Lieberman,

“Joe I’ve been saying this and I’ve tried to do my homework as much as I could and I’ve spent the last couple of days talking to some people I like to call deep throats, some people who really now what’s going on and I am so afraid that we are going to see Hezbollah or Lebanon fail into the hands totally of Hezbollah that your going to see, with the shelling on the northern border of Iraq with Iran, that your going to start to see Iran start to come into Iraq, the entire middle east is going to be on fire and we are going to find ourselves like Ray Nagin found himself with buses in a parking lot. We are just, why is it there aren’t more politicians saying guys this is World War 3 we are in deep trouble?” And listen to how Joe Lieberman responds to that question. Joe says, “I don’t know the answer to that and I’m afraid that so many people in both parties go at politics as if it were a sport where your on one team the Democratic team or the Republican team and the aim is for that team to win and when you do that you forget that there are larger interests which is the interest of the United States of America. The other thing going on here is that people don’t like to face the reality of danger and maybe some politicians don’t want to be the ones to talk about it, but everything you’ve just said is right. And maybe between the days from now until the 5th anniversary of 9/11. I happen to be spinning the dial last night and went to CourTV and they were replaying a documentary on 9/11. It’s heart breaking, but its infuriating what they did to us, and they will do it again, they tried to do it again last week until the plot was broken up. Everything you just said about the Middle East is right. You’ve got to look at what is happening in Lebanon as another battle field in what is a global war, Islamic extremists have attacked us and they are in it for the long haul. You have got to look at the question on how we end our involvement in Iraq in the same way. If we walk away, then the Iranians---as sure as I’m talking to you---surge into Iraq, certainly take over the south and all the oil that is there. Glenn says, “We will have $200 a barrel oil over night. And Lieberman says, “We will have $200 a barrel oil, we will be paying $6 to $7 bucks a gallon and that will just be the tip of it. They’ll be instability and war throughout the Middle East. We have got to wake up to this, it is the test, unfortunately, not just of this generation of American leader, but the next generation as well.”

Did you hear that? A Democrat, well a former Democrat, because they kicked him out of the party because he understands that the president is right for fighting this war. Joe Lieberman understands what America is up against and he understands that Republican and Democrat means nothing when the most important thing right now is we are in World War 3 and fighting for our lives against a real enemy. Not each other, against Islamofacists.

Glenn Beck goes on the ask Senator Joe Lieberman,

“I’ve been saying this since before we went into Iraq, that we are trying to plant democracy in the Middle East, we are trying to change the face of the Middle East. Weapons of Mass Destruction was a nice side benefit, we were trying to pop the head of the snake in Iran, that’s what we were trying to do and I don’t think anybody had the courage to or could actually come out and say that with World politics the way they are. Senator Lieberman responds, “Well your right, I think if I fault the administration for anything before the war it is that, because I think we did the right thing in going into overthrow Saddam, it’s that they oversold the WMD part of the argument. I go back to 1998, John McCain help me put in the Iraq Liberation Act. It said that our goal now had to not be to contain Saddam, but to get rid of him and why? A dictator a mass murder, I hope the public follows what’s going on in the trial of Saddam, this is a guy, he had Weapons of Mass Destruction and he had gas and of all the leaders in the World today, he used them, to kill thousands and thousands of people. So we did the right thing and now we have to finish it in an honorable way, we just can’t accept a loss there because it will haunt us and our kids and our grandkids.”

That is what this is about, America, the American dream, Your family, your kids.

On a side note towards the end of the end of the interview Lieberman explains what he thinks about Ned Lamont, his supporters, the KOS kids, and what he thinks of the crazy Moonbats that have hijacked the Democratic Party:

Joe says, “I think its nutty and I’ve accused Ned Lamont of representing the old politics of partisanship and polarization, but this group of his supports [The Daily KOS Moonbats] represents and older politics that sounds more like the Soviet Union were they would love to purge people from the official list of party members cause they weren’t thought to be 100%, I mean I think that is going to fade away, but it’s a sign of the times.

We don’t have a vision anymore. We need a vision for America. A vision of where America is going. America has to become blind, we have forgotten what America is all about.

America is about stuff now. It used to be an ideal, it used to be a means to an end. You didn’t have the American dream yet, but you were an American and America encouraged you to, brought out the best in you.

We need a leader. We have a leader in George W. Bush, we just don’t have a great communicator. When Bush does speak you can tell he knows the problems America faces, he knows what has to happen to fix America, he has a vision, and he just does not know how to make his vision clear to the American people.

It’s not that August 22nd was going to happen, it’s that it could happen. We could lose the American dream any day.

Great show, I got to interveiw, Dana Carvey (Master of Disgiuse, Wayne's World, and Wayne's World 2), Arnold Schwarzenegger, former president George Bush Sr., with an exclusive sneak preveiw of George W. Bush's weekly radio address. Justin threatened to have me fired and Kender laughed at me almost the entire time I was on the air, (not in a good way.)

XM Satellite Radio Continues It's Losing Streak

XM Satellite Radio Fails To Meet Projections

XM Radio Widens Loss; Losing Subscribers

NEW YORK

XM Satellite Radio Holdings Inc. reported a wider loss for its second quarter Thursday as it absorbed charges for restructuring its debt. The company again lowered its estimates for full-year subscriber counts.

XM, which is based in Washington, D.C., lost $231.7 million or 87 cents per share in the three months ending June 30, versus a loss of $148.8 million or 70 cents per share in the comparable period a year ago.

Revenue nearly doubled to $227.9 million from $125.4 million a year ago.

The company said it now expects to end the year with a customer base between 7.7 million and 8.2 million, and that it would refine that range at the end of the third quarter. The company cited "current marketplace dynamics" and regulatory uncertainty regarding certain of its radio models for the change.

The news is sure to disappoint investors, who punished XM's stock in May when it lowered its previous forecast for year-end subscribers to 8.5 million from 9 million, blaming problems with product availability and soft retail sales.

In pre-market trading, XM's shares fell 50 cents or 4.8 percent to $9.86...(more)

I cannot believe you are not going to have Glenn Beck on M-F anymore. That is the worst decision you could have made. I will not be listening to your station anymore. Glenn has the best show on Talk Radio. I guess from now on I will listen to Glenn on his website and stop listening to your station.

Results of Saturday's Pickle Eating Contest and Dairy Challenge

As heard on The Passionate America Show July, 22 2006.

Last Saturday night during my live internet talk radio show, The Passionate America Show, on Wide Awakes Radio my brother and co-host Big Mike and I had a spicy pickle eating contest (no thanks to fmragtops for the pickle suggestion) and a dairy challenge (suggested by Kender.)

For those of you that don't know what a dairy challenge is I'll break it down for you. Each ~~participant~~ dumba$$ competing in a dairy challenge tries to drink more milk than the other ~~participant~~ dumba$$.

The spicy pickle eating contest and the dairy challenge were not such a great idea. Little did I know it is possible to eat as many spicy pickles and drink as much milk as I did, however it is not possible to keep it down. I won both contests but really lost at the same time--spending 1 hour praying to the porcelain god.

Below are the results of the spicy pickle eating contest and the dairy challenge.

Nobody wins a dairy challenge.

I am proud to announce that WAR is back on the air. Our fearless leader Kender got the new sever installed and Wide Awakes Radio is broadcasting live once again.

I was on the radio for 2 hours yesterday with Gribbit and we had a great time. Not sure if I will be on again today, but make sure to listen and find out.

Kender has been working on the call in phone system. It should be ready to take your calls anytime now. The number is 1-888-407-1776.

My show, The Passionate America Show will be on Saturday night at 9pm-midnight CT or 10pm-1am CT. I need to check with Kender and make sure about the times. PAS podcast #1

Kender is still working on get the listen live sever installed at Wide Awakes Radio. For now I decided to record The Passionate America Show as a podcast.

This is the first episode of The Passionate America Show. I invited my brother Big Mike to join me in what I like to refer to as the studio to co-host with me this week. We were a little nervous at first, not having any idea what we were doing and what we should talk about, so we just started talking and recorded our entire conversation. Once we started recording we quickly got into the groove of things and ended up with an hour and 30 minutes of our stupidity. I know it is a long podcast, but we had so much fun recording it that I had a hard time leaving any of the conversation on the cutting room floor. I hope you enjoy The Passionate America Show podcast episode #1. We sure did.

Update: 11pm-This mp3 is recorded at a low (16bit) rate. It will not play in the odeo or macromedia flash players. I am changing the bit rate now and I will try to upload the new file as soon as I can. It will be a larger file but you will be able to listen to the file with the media player on this website and at the Wide Awakes Radio website. My podcast has been changed to a 64 bit version. Sorry for the ploblems. I am learning as I go here.

I got my tickets better get yours before they are sold out!

On July 15th (my birthday), my son and I are traveling to Tulsa, OK to see the Glenn Beck Mid-Life Crisis Tour. This is my birthday present to myself. This leaves me with a small problem. My first radio show on Wide Awakes Radio was scheduled for this Saturday (July 8th) however due to the sever meltdown, my first show will now be on July 15th. Since I will be in Tulsa that night I will have to prerecord my first show. I will be unable to take live phone calls due to my show being pre recorded.

One of the Wide Awakes Radio hosts lives in Tulsa and I will try to meet them before or after the show. I am looking forward to hanging out with one of my fellow On-Air-Talents of Wide Awakes Radio. If you live in the Tulsa, Oklahoma area or you are going to the Glenn Beck Mid-Life Crisis Tour on July 15th leave a comment or send me an email and we will try to meet up.

Sirius subscriber growth outpaces XM

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Sirius Satellite Radio Inc. (SIRI.O: Quote, Profile, Research) on Thursday posted stronger second quarter subscriber additions than larger rival XM Satellite Radio Holdings Inc. (XMSR.O: Quote, Profile, Research), sending Sirius' shares up 4 percent.

Sirius, boosted by an exclusive deal with shock jock radio personality Howard Stern, said it added about 600,640 net new subscribers in the quarter, a 64 percent growth from the same period last year. It ended the quarter with 4.7 million subscribers, still short of XM's nearly 7 million subscribers.

XM said it added 398,000 net new subscribers, a 38 percent drop in net subscriber growth compared to last year's period curbed by new product availability. XM shares were flat in Nasdaq trade after falling as much as 5 percent before the market opened...(more)

My birthday is coming up on July 15th, so I spent a little time dreaming about what I could use for my birthday. I need a portable recorder for my radio show so I can record a backup of my show and record on-the-spot interviews. Wide Awakes Radio Live Streaming Sever is offline until Saturday.

We got more listeners today than our temporary sever could handle. Kender our fearless leader was forced to shut down our live radio stream until our permanent dedicated sever arrives Friday. Wide Awakes Radio should be up in time for my show on Saturday. If not then my first show will be next Saturday.

This might sound like bad news, but there is a bright side to our sever meltdown, we had more listeners on our first day than we expected. Wide Awakes Radio is growing by leaps and bounds.

Also the Wide Awakes website was down for a while today because of the extremely high visitor traffic. That problem has been fixed. Thanks to everyone that tuned in and made our first day a big success.

Here is what Heidi at Euphoric Reality had to say about the meltdown:

Really, what happened is that this vision for WAR is so much bigger than any of us had a clue about. The demand for this radio station was so unprecedented and so unanticipated, that everyone was wholly unprepared for the tsunami of interest that swamped us today.

Today, Wide Awakes Radio launched to a magnificent crowd of listeners. We had tons of callers, and I had the opportunity on the air with a true genius and an amazing writer, Rick Moran of Right Wing Nuthouse. By the afternoon, we found that something amazing had happened. We found out that our server wasn’t capable of handling the number of listeners that logged on, and soon enough we had to bring the stream down. While this is of course unfortunate, it means that we premiered to an excellent audience. We are going to have to RE-LAUNCH, probably Sunday or Monday.

Passionate America Joins Wide Awakes Radio

Yes you read that correctly. I am going to be hosting an internet radio show. My first show will be on July 8th on Wide Awakes Radio (W.A.R.)

The Passionate America Show will be on for 3 hour each Saturday night. Why Saturday night? Besides the fact that it was one of the only spots still available, I believe Saturday night desperately needs a new comedy and entertainment injection.

There are a lot of losers out there (like me) that spend their Saturday nights alone watching pathetic shows like Saturday Night Live and Mad TV. While the majority of people spend their Saturday nights doing really important things like dating, going to the movies, spending time with friends, partying at the club, getting drunk, having sex, and vomiting in the back of police cars. Not me. I haven’t been on a date in 5 years, and sex, that only happens if my hand feels up to it. What make this even more pathetic? I’m married!

I know I’m not the only loser with nothing to do on Saturday night. So I intend to do something about this problem. The Passionate America Show will be your date, your party, your friend that will hangout with you, your chance to flirt with other people that just want to have a life too. And I’ll be here taking your calls and talking about all the things I plan to do if I had a real life. Any topic or issue will be fair game like; blogging, news, dating, and some politics (it’s Saturday night, politics is more like a Sunday through Friday kind of topic.) Feel free to laugh along with me or you can laugh at me—I’m used to it.

I was up all night loading software. Updating virus protection, Windows, audio software, sound cards. I downloaded Windows Media Player 11 beta. It looks so much better than version 10, but It has already crashed on me once. Still having a little problem getting my voice, music, and sound effect to all record at the same time. I'll get it figured out.

My brain is to fried to be funny today. I'll try to be funny tomorrow.

I have a lot of work today

I have to move our family computer, printer, and desk.

My Laptop.

Into the bedroom.

And somehow turn all of this into an Internet Radio Broadcasting Studio.

Boy do I have my work cut out for me. I have to go borrow my dad's truck so I can go buy a table to put all to this computer hardware on. Then I have to set up all the stuff, make it all work, and get all three computers to work of off the same internet connection. I'm sure I will spend most of the day reloading all the software on my two crappy desktop computers. I hope to be up and running later on tonight. Wish me luck.
